ZDS Preaches To House Purists With Latest Tune “Do You Like”
Sometimes the murkier depths of techno can come off incredibly serious and exclusionary. We have all been to shows where techno and deep house snobs abound, alienating all those who can’t seem to catch the groove; however, debut release for Psycho Disco Records, east London’s ZDS (Zombie Disco Squad) uses his considerably wide array of talents to bring together a compelling track in the form of “Do You Like.” The cheeky Brit captures the listener’s imagination with infectious vocals and a flair for menacing, stripped down house. The industrial vibes exude throughout this track perfectly encapsulate the type of house music that heightens the senses and quickens the pulse.
If you are a fan of techno and house, give ZDS’ latest tune a spin. With this filthy bass line and catchy essence, you’ll have “Do You Like” on repeat without fail. Zombie Disco Squad takes their dance party to a mysterious industrial space where the listener is asked, “Do you like house? Do you like techno?” The track continues to cover various genres with questioning vocals. As the track progresses, ZDS employs samples from the genres mentioned by the vocals. Although “Do You Like” is just under six minutes, the listener travels through a vortex of sound. There’s no longer a need to question because you have an answer. Last, but certainly not least, ZDS has one more surprise in store for us with the EP- brand new original “Differently Abled.” The final cut from the project is a bonafide house number that finds its footing in four-on-the-floor rhythms and a percolating bass line. Label mate Codes chips in with a devious remix to the EP’s title track. You can pick up the entire “Do You Like” EP at Beatport.
