Wooden Wisdom Set To Play Verboten, 1/8 With Elijah Wood and Zach Cowies
On January 8th, Wooden Wisdom will be performing at Brooklyn’s Verboten Nightclub with supporting acts Ben Silver (of Orchard Lounge), Wyllys, Speakerbot, Tucci, Risky Disco, and more.
An electronic duo composed of Elijah Wood (yes, the actor) and Zach Cowie, these two together as Wooden Wisdom are a couple of legitimate disc jockeys spinning actual vinyl to make their sounds – an aspect that we as electronic music enthusiasts can all appreciate as opposed to other EDM artists this day in age who seem to simply press “play” and party on stage. Let’s face it, we all know them.
Anyway, the result of Wooden Wisdom’s authentic vinyl spinning results in some pretty great sounds ranging from African funk to acid rock. The two succeed when it comes to getting a crowd excited through their music, other than the fact that everyone there is sharing a room with a celebrity.
In addition to the groovy tunes being showcased that night, a live art set will accompany the music by artist Eddy Bogaert. Bogaert is a visual artist who’s pretty gifted in creating trippy, psychedelic-inspired black light art with tons of contrasting aesthetics.
The event will be held at Verboten Nightclub – known to be Brooklyn’s home-base for underground music and events. Verboten is one of the leaders in the New York underground dance music scene: booking, producing and promoting house music and techno parties at a variety of clubs, boats, festivals and music conferences. As a side note: Verboten’s interior club space is equipped with floor-to-ceiling white walls that act as space to project tons of awesome visuals throughout the night. So instead of a single screen in the background of the performer, guests can enjoy being surrounded 360-degrees by huge blank walls showcasing an array of images and lights – a truly immersive experience.
Between the epic nightclub venue, original music, and talented artwork to compliment it, this event is certainly a night you won’t want to miss in Brooklyn. Snatch your tickets here.
