Win Tickets to Gratifly Music & Arts Festival
This weekend-long fest from July 24th – 27th will feature a stunning musical lineup, workshops, yoga, art and so much more. The event is being held in Westminster, SC on a beautiful piece of property called Avalon. With the peaceful presence of Appalachia surrounding it, Gratifly is sure to be an opportunity for positive connection and transformation.
In a previous post I waxed about the festival as a whole, but as the date draws closer and the schedules are being released, let’s take a closer look at some of the talent you that don’t want to miss.
First off is Opiuo. Opiuo’s newest album, Meraki, has been one of my favorite releases of this year. This New Zealand producer is known for his bouncy beats and infectious dance melodies and this album doesn’t disappoint. “Quack Fat” has to be one of the most upbeat tracks…ever. His music is loud, odd and a blast to dance to. I’ve seen him live a few times and his shows are always filled with smiling faces completely engrossed in his sanguine tracks
Of course I must mentioned the toothsome duo Rising Appalachia. Sisters Leah and Chloe have a sound entirely of their own. Their tight harmonies and poetic lyrics create a transcendent listening experience. They are a little old world, a little gospel, little folksy and incredibly talented. I can’t wait to see them in the environment that inspired their name and infuses their songs
Last but never least I’d like to highlight renaissance man Michael Garfield who will be blessing the fest with both his musical talents and his visual art. Michael’s sound is rich, organic and at times almost eery. He works with live samples, his guitar his hands and even sometimes his feet. Michael is also a gifted painter, he will be exhibiting some of his pieces and I believe doing live painting as well.
We’ll be reporting all the fun we’re having at Gratifly and we hope that you can join us. Contest ends at 1:00pm ET tomorrow (7/22).
