Comeback Track of the Week: Bondax “Neo Seoul”
Inspiration comes in many forms. It can be a face, a feeling, or a destination. This week’s Track of the Week is “Neo Seoul” by Bondax, inspired by a trip to South Korea. Hailing from the UK, these two just returned from a 3-year hiatus. The time seems to have done them well as this track is smooth and funky. This track is bound to be a club track as winter winds down and spring is in the air.
“Neo Seoul” opens with a fade-in of smooth vocals taken straight from the 70’s. As the track begins to pick up, quick drums and a bass line kick in. When the funky guitar enters the scene, it’s impossible not to dance. The guitar, bass, and drums seem to talk to each other during the track. One hears the funk-filled conversation, instantly taken to a disco where the mirror ball is shining specs of moving light on all those dancing. The only downside to this Track of the Week is that it seems to short. “Neo Seoul” begs for a second listen.
“Neo Seoul is the most club-oriented track we’ve ever made – it stands alone in stark contrast to our album. The inspiration for the track is also a contrast in its own right – it was originally inspired by our memories of touring Asia, but the track truly came into being when we returned from a brief visit to Uganda.”
In addition to the track’s inspiration, Bondax also filmed the video for “Neo Seoul” while in Seoul. Check out this week’s Track/Video of the Week at the top of the page.
