Track Of The Day: Joe Bermudez Ft. April Efff – Nintendo
It’s Stix again, and I’m back with a brand new track hot off the press for you all. Gear up, nerdy girls (and game haters alike!), because this day’s track is for you!
Hailing from Boston, MA, today’s track is from producer/DJ Joe Bermudez. This young gun has been tearing up shows and festivals, from Ultra to House of Blues, all while running his syndicated radio show, Mass Movement Radio. If he’s not interviewing some of the biggest artists out there, he’s out spinning with the best of them, opening for the hottest acts in the scene. And despite all that, he’s still got time to hit the studios and deliver us a brand new 16 track album, which will be dropping July 21st (Order here!).
Off his newest album is the debut single “Nintendo.” If you’re thinking to yourself, “I bet this is gonna be nerdy and use Nintendo samples,” you’re wrong. Just kidding, that was sarcasm. BAZINGA! It’s got tons of samples, nerdy references, and even a full blown Mario themed video! Don’t let that fool you, though, as this is really a track to poke fun at all the guys and girls ignoring their significant others for their love of gaming! April Efff delivers irked and comical lyrics about a girl striving to win back the attention of her “boyfriend” from the grasps of video games. April’s voice and the droll lyrics really give it a feel reminiscent of Icona Pop and Ke$ha. The song itself is a poppy-dance blend that is radio-worthy for any Top 40 station currently on your stereo. With its bouncy sounds and catchy lyrics, this one will be sure to get stuck in your head and a hit with all women alike.
