The New Mastersounds Hit Brooklyn Bowl This Fri-Sat!
This weekend, The New Mastersounds are bringing their funky, jazz-infused jams all the way from the UK to Brooklyn Bowl for a 3-show run that is sure to kill it! Whether or not you’re familiar with these guys they’re definitely worth checking out and you have three chances to catch them—Friday night, Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening.
NMS first formed back in the late 90s when Eddie Roberts needed live music for his night club in Leeds and recruited some friends to play with him, which wound up leading to a record deal shortly after. Members have come and gone over the years but the band is currently comprised of Roberts, Simon Allen, Pete Shand and Joe Tatton, along with a serious roster of collaborations including Corinne Bailey Rae, Karl Denson, Galactic, Soul Rebels Brass Band and George Porter Jr.
You may have caught NMS during one of their many US festival appearances, such as Jam Cruise (where they first got their big break), High Sierra, Wakarusa, Bear Creek or Gathering of the Vibes, in addition to major festival appearances around the world.
According to their website, they plan to play lots of new tunes as well as old throughout their current tour, and they even guarantee never to repeat a set list! This is a show you don’t want to miss. Get your tickets now for this Friday night, Saturday afternoon or Saturday night (or all three!) at Brooklyn Bowl here.
