Well, well; I see that all the analysts are singing a different tune about the Miami Dolphins this week! Before pre-season even began, they all predicted Miami to go 3-13 for the season. Let’s see– week eight we sit at second in the division with a record of 4-3! With our second string QB Matt Moore running the show, we dominated on all sides of the ball with an Impressive 30-9 victory over the NY Jets! How impressive was this win? This is the first time since week 14 of the 2010 season that the Dolphins are sitting at over .500!
Just a day away from week 9 of the season, there are coaches in the hot seat. The San Diego ChargersCoach Norv Turner is one who I think will be gone before the end of the season. Nothing is going right for the Chargers and has not been for the last couple of years! Philadelphia Eagles’ Andy Reid was told at the end of last year’s season that 8-8 was not good enough; in a nut shell, that it was the play-offs or he was gone. As The Eagles sit at 3-4, it does not look good for Coach Reid!
My guess he is gone at the end of the season along with QB Vick. Next up is Coach Ron Rivera. No way around this: he will be gone. For Coach Rivera, the only question is when the axe will fall. The Panthers are 1-6 right now and show no signs of a winning team. Their QB’s confidence is shaken, they are not using Steve Smith, and they are not utilizing their running backs as they should. Recipe for disaster if you ask me! Let’s throw in a wild card. I believe CowboysCoach Jason Garret is gone at the end of the season (maybe before). No way is the big man Jerry Jones going to tolerate another miserable losing season!
I would like to give a special shout out to Dante Cano! The 11-year-old had an idea to use pink penalty flags in a game to support National Breast Cancer awareness. So he wrote a letter to NFL Commissioner Goodell asking him to do so. Commissioner Goodwell thought it was a great idea and they were used in the Miami Dolphins/NY Jets game last Sunday! I truly hope that they are used in every game in the month of October next season! Way to go, Dante!
This week’s Bozo No No goes to the Jets (as if you did not see that coming)! Tick, tick , tick of the game clock and they never showed any hustle or sense of urgency throughout the entire game! The first half their possessions went like this: punt, punt, fumble, punt, punt, punt and blocked field goal! Instead of QB Sanchez rallying his team, you could see him pouting on the sidelines like a dejected kid! The crowd could be heard calling for Tim Tebow. Speaking of which, where are the amazing Wildcat formations you brought Tebow in for? Tebow Time will come soon for the Jets, as in benching Sanchez and starting Tebow! Rex Ryan‘s post-game interview was pure gold! Referring to Miami’s dominant win over The Jets, he said that to say he never saw that coming was an understatement! HAH! That is what happens when you’re cocky and trash talk and cannot back it up on the field! Oh and Rex, how did you like that hot sauce?!?!?!
