Sunday Funday: New Music From Dinowalrus, Balto, and SSHH
As the weekend begins to cool down and and a new week dawning, it’s important to refresh your playlists with new tunes! This week we’re bringing you select artists that will undoubtedly start your week off right.
Leading today’s select cuts is SSHH. Comprised of vocalist Sshh Liguz and Zak Starkey, this duo’s upcoming album, ISSUES, will feature covers of songs that influenced them as well as having original members featured on every track. “Problems” is the first offering from the group, and features original Sex Pistols bassist and drummer, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook, respectively. With the addition of legendary players, SSHH manages to keep true to the rock band.
Lifted from their upcoming album, Fairweather, Dinowalrus provides a boppin’ synth straight out of the 80’s with “Light Rain.” The band’s fourth album will seem like a step back in time as synth and psychedelia intertwine as the previously released-“Tides” will show. Fairweather is available 9/23.
Balto was recently featured and provided a great escape to a wonderful day filled with groove. While we await the Portland-based band’s upcoming album, it’s nice to have a chill day. “Born Astray” is beautifully melodic and will end your day just off right in a gritty number.
