All-Star Lineup Brings the Music of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson to Life in New York City – August 13
Prepare yourselves for an evening of dance classics as talented musicians from a variety of renowned funk outfits bring the work of Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson back to life for one night only! On August 13th, the storied Highline Ballroom hosts a workout for your dancing shoes as you prepare for a journey into nostalgia. This exciting night is brought to you by absolute all-stars in the funk and jam band scenes. Adam Deitch is known from his work with Lettuce, Break Science, and the Pretty Lights live band. Eric Bloom and Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff both kick it with Lettuce, and the talented Cory Henry is best known for his work with Snarky Puppy.
These four musicians will be hosting a special event where participants will journey deep into the discographies of Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. Not just content with DJ’ing these classics, these funk maestros will be putting their own spin on Michael’s and Stevie’s signature sounds. Deitch’s drumming, Bloom’s horns, Shmeean’s guitar, and Cory’s keys will take you on ride to a simpler time where all that mattered was how well you could dance.
Further details are still scarce, but we know one important detail. Tickets for this event are only $20, and can be purchased from The Highline Ballrooms Website.
