Slaptop Releases Debut Album “With You”
With his suave approach to producing wild house bangers, San Francisco’s Slaptop has garnered himself some serious critical acclaim. Counting a series of Hype Machine, chart-topping original productions and official remixes for world-renowned artists including Zhu, Fetty Wap, Bob Moses, Jaymes Young, and more as accomplishments over the past two years, this talented producer is now ready to unveil his largest undertaking to date — his debut artist album titled With You.
Slaptop’s freshman effort features a sizzling array of tracks that can fit any situation.
Prior to the release of With You earlier this month, Slaptop unveiled his huge lead single “Come Down.” This massive cut from the album features Slaptop exploring an unfamiliar sonic territory that fuses pop vocals with future bass rhythms. Described as the “the track’s coup de grâce” by Dancing Astronaut, “Come Down” also features a jaw-dropping vocal performance from Adam Levine’s esteemed protégé Rozzi Crane. Acting as a true indicator of the album’s ethos, “Come Down” stands as Slaptop’s most surprising work to date, and solidifies the musical diversity Slaptop will be bringing to light on this latest project.
This record features a slew of feel-good tunes that highlight all of the infectious elements of Slaptop’s production style. Tracks like “I Try” featuring Olivia Florentino, and “What I Mean” featuring Tate Kobang, showcase Slaptop’s ability to incorporate hip-hop and R&B influences while also giving a nod to the future bass style. The album is built on classic house tracks like “Jump Into“, “Another Life” and “Passenger.” Although, my favorite track of the release is the hugely triumphant anthem “Come Down” feat. Rozzi Crane.
“Come Down” follows previous album releases, “Passenger,” “I Try,” “Another Life,” and “Jump Into.” So far, the releases have awarded the producer critical praise from a number of outlets including This Song Is Sick, YourEDM, Magnetic, Discobelle, Earmilk, and many more. “Passenger” was also selected by legendary tastemaking DJ/producer, The Magician, for release on his label Potion Records. This hungry DJ is also setting his sights high with Slaptop’s newly founded record label, Sunsquad, gathering major attention as well.
