This September, STS9 will be returning to Legend Valley in Thornville, OH to headline Resonance Music and Arts Festival. Many people thought they would never return to Legend Valley after the “trust fall” incident that occurred at last year’s Werk Out Festival located at the same venue, but many are pleasantly surprised they are coming back.
STS9 is one of the most innovative jam bands out there. I hesitate to even call them a “jam band” because they are so much more than that. They perpetually bring something new to every show; always improvising live within their songs, infusing their music with unique compositional dimensions, and constantly evolving and elevating their live performance to facilitate a new experience “every time… instantly,” which is one of the many reasons fans follow them around the country religiously. This heavily-touring band has one of the most dedicated fan bases out there, and it’s not hard to understand why. We recently spoke with Zach Velmer, the band’s drummer, about this and much more.
After the massive heater the Chicago winter shows were this past February, STS9 will soon be embarking on their upcoming “Get Loud” tour, kicking it off in the most appropriate way at the most grandiose city in America; the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NVon March 31–April 1. Prepare for liftoff; we hope to see you on tour!
