Railroad Earth to Perform at Best Buy Theater
Get Ready! Railroad Earth is on their way back to New York! The eclectic band will be playing on February 22nd at the Best Buy Theater in New York City! The band consists of six extraordinary members who each play multiple instruments throughout the show. When the band first started, back in 2001, they were just a bunch of guys interested in playing acoustic instruments together. Since then, the band has released five critically acclaimed albums! Over the past 13 years, Railroad Earth has accumulated an immense and loyal fan base who travel across the country to show their support and enjoy the music.
The band has bluegrass influences, yet use drums and amplifiers, which is very unusual in the bluegrass world. So, what “type” of music does Railroad Earth play? Tim Carbone, who plays Violins, Electric Guitar, and Vocals for the band called himself “a souped-up string band” saying, “We use unique acoustic instrumentation, but we’re definitely not a bluegrass or country band, which sometimes leaves music writers confused as to how to categorize us. We’re essentially playing rock on acoustic instruments.” Mandolin/vocalist John Skehan extends the description by stating; “I always describe it as a string band, but an amplified string band with drums.” To sum up, jam out with Railroad Earth this Saturday, February 22nd 2014 at Best Buy Theater! Tickets are general admission and can be purchased here for $25.00.
