North Coast Music Festival 2014 After Movie
Festivals can come in many shapes and sizes, from a vast square mileage compound to the size of a block party. North Coast Music Festival has a way of taking a city park no larger than a couple blocks in every direction and making it a huge festival, worthy of bringing the biggest names out there. Entering into its 5th year, this year’s anniversary was a trip to remember.
Each year, North Coast brings the biggest up-and-coming artists from a wide variety of record labels as well as genres and melds them flawlessly with some huge artists. This year’s diverse lineup included Snoop Dogg, Nicky Romero, Little Dragon, Bassnectar, Washed Out, and STS9. Each artist on the lineup brought their own eclectic mix of fans. From the hippie jam band lovers to the bro-stepping banger boys, Chicago is filled with music lovers of all kinds. The sound and production for North Coast topped most, with Bassnectar’s set vibrating the entire park for an hour and a half. The use of the park for North Coast was unique and somehow worked well given the limited space, shoving 6 stages in one city park! In addition, the festival was packed with a total of 58,000 in attendance over the weekend. Despite the space challenges, all weekend the music was abundant and extremely well done.
For those wanting to re-live the North Coast experience or for those who need another reason to attend, the official North Coast Music Festival 5th Anniversary After Movie has been released. Check it out for all the best highlights from this phenomenal year.
