BassWatch: Mr.K Releases Masterful ‘Red Handed’ EP Via White Peach Records
Hailing from the UK, Mr.K is the next dubstep phenom set to shake the scene. Supported by pillars in the world of 140 like J. Sparrow, J:Kenzo, Distinct Motive, Truth and more, Mr.K is a certified maven primed to have a massive year in 2020. With releases on seminal imprints like Sentry Records, Deep Dark & Dangerous, DUPLOC, and Navy Cut, this rising star is already leaving an indelible mark on the landscape. Now Mr.K is back with a truly menacing offering in the form of his Red Handed EP out now on White Peach Records.
Red Handed is a flawless 4-track EP that underlines Mr.K’s status as dub royalty. The EP kicks off with the title track “Red Handed” which is a mischevious tune that ebbs and flows with style and malice. Sonorous bass waves throb and wobble with choreographed chaos that results in an all-consuming lead track. “Okoustik” is a punishing tune that splices cinematic tension with thunderous basslines, showcasing Mr.K’s def musical sense. “Aro” chimes in as our favorite track on the project, but really picking a favorite is like choosing between children. Subtle, menacing and intoxicating, this track is an absolute banger that doesn’t detonate as much as it smolders into an inferno. “So Vague” ends the EP on an imperious and uncompromising note. Certainly not made for the faint of heart, “So Vague” is a dark, chain-linked bow on this phenomenal release.
Red Handed certainly underlines Mr.K’s status as a force to reckon with in the scene. Check out Mr.K’s full arsenal of dubstep heaters here on his Soundcloud and connect with the rising tastemaker on Facebook as well.
