This week, Live from AURA Studios, South Florida’s landmark video series broadcasting national recording artists live from AURA Studios in Boca Raton, FL, announces its Spring 2014 performance schedule.
The creative minds behind the annual AURA Music & Arts Festival hand-select each season’s lineup of buzzworthy artists, such as past performers The Revivalists and Kung Fu. This spring’s guests bring a new spectrum of progressive rock and American soul to the AURA studios for a FREE live-stream in 5-camera HD video from 8-10pm EST at www.LIVEfromAURA.com.
One of AURA’s most anticipated spring studio sessions is breakout soul ensemble The Nth Power, a conglomeration of power players from Beyonce and John Schofield, to Big Daddy Kane and Pretty Lights. Their insane blend of funk, R&B, progressive soul, gospel and world beat has a palpable synergy together that will give you goosebumps. Live in studio May 7, The Nth Power treat the AURA airwaves to brand new music from their forthcoming full-length debut, Abundance.
Another standout artist on AURA’s radar for 2014 is Jimkata, whose new EP Feel In Light was streamed more than 10,000 times since it’s March 4 release. Their refined electro-rock sound is one of a band that has found its voice after years of experimentation. It’s more indie rock than jam, and more electro-pop than EDM; yet the four-piece appeals to each of these audiences.
South Florida’s own, The Heavy Pets will celebrate the May 6 release of their forthcoming EP, Rags and Aces. The AURA family favorites just returned from California where they played two nights at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco supporting Galactic. Rags and Aces is the follow up to their EP Two Horses, featuring SiriusXM JamOn favorite “Keep Me Running” and the indie-rock tinged “Last Babies”.
Rounding out the spring sessions are Baltimore, MD’s Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, who have an undeniably versatile live sound with their evolving arrangement of original compositions and psychedelic improvisation jams, as well as Asheville’s The Fritz, with their seriously funky grooves, intoxicating guitar lines and soulful front man on the keys.
Live from AURA Studios kicks off tonight with hip-hop power trio Sophistafunk at 8 pm EST streaming free at www.LIVEfromAURA.com.
