Equifunk Artist Spotlight: Sucker Punch
With Equifunk just around the corner, let’s turn our attention to one of the many highlights of the weekend: the long-awaited return of mega-conglomerate jam band, Sucker Punch.
Since 2003, these guys have been doing their own thing with a range of popular jam bands. It will be interesting to see what they have gained from their individual experiences and how that translates to the stage. Let’s take a look at the all-star lineup.
The most well-known member is without a doubt Marc Brownstein, bassist of the Disco Biscuits as well as several other side projects including Conspirator. Anyone who has ever attended a Biscuits show or other venture of Brownstein’s knows that his live set is not something to be missed.
Brownstein’s partner-in-crime Aron Magner will also take the stage as keyboardist. Magner, like Brownstein, is a founding member of the Biscuits, Conspirator and many other musical endeavors.
From Canadian band The New Deal we have Jamie Shields, also on the keyboard. This will be one of Shields’ first live appearances since TND split up this past January. Shields and TND are well known on the festival circuit and always guarantee a good time.
Finally Mike Greenfield of Lotus will be joining on the drums. Any festival-goer knows how hard Lotus kills it live—no further explanation necessary.
Catch the much-anticipated return of Sucker Punch on the late night stage at Equifunk, the all-inclusive music festival held annually in the Poconos August 17-19.
SuckerPunch will be playing on the Live For Live Music Late Night Stage.
