SR Track Of The Week: German Electronic/Techno Producer Christian Löffler
Christian Löffler continues to be one of our favorite current house and techno artists. His subtle and serene style allows him to stand out from a dramatically crowded electronic music landscape. The German producer’s approach is far more reminiscent of a master painter rather than a beatsmith. With bold brush strokes and artful techniques, Löffler cultivates gorgeous soundscapes that are in rare supply. With his latest single “The End” Löffler teams up with longtime collaborator Josephine Philip to once again merge his ambient production with her emotive vocals.
Löffler’s brand of subdued house is stripped down and refreshing. Rather than brash, pulse-quickening percussive elements, Löffler employs hypnotic drums to guide the track forward. Philip’s lush vocals are paired perfectly with luscious, ethereal synths. Evoking visions of natural landscapes, hushed conversations and quiet moments of intimacy “The End” is a powerful offering from a true visionary. “The End” will appear on Christian Löffler’s forthcoming album Lys, which will be out in March.
You can experience Löffler’s glorious live show at the CityfoxLIVE Festival at Avant Gardner on Saturday, March 29. Get your tickets here.
