Coheed and Cambria will return to Hammerstein
The progressive rock band will face a sold out crowd of dedicated fans. Coheed formed in Nyack, NY in 2001, only a short distance from the Hammerstein Ballroom. They also have a special history with the Hammerstein Ballroom, as it is where they recorded their second live DVD, The Last Supper: Live at Hammerstein Ballroom in 2006. The hometown factor and history with the venue might make this the most anticipated show of the tour.
The Neverender – In Keeping Secrets Tour has consisted of the band performing their second studio album In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 in it’s entirety across the USA. This format is fitting for Coheed, since their albums are very conceptual. The albums tell the story of The Armory Wars, the graphic novel series written by frontman Claudio Sanchez. IKSSE:3, which was released in 2003, features a couple of hits you might remember, “A Favor House Atlantic” and “Blood Red Summer.”
Doors open at 7:00pm. Thank You Scientist, a seven-piece experimental rock group from Montclair NJ, will get things started off before Coheed and Cambria take the stage.
The Hammerstein Ballroom show is sold out, but tickets are still available for the nearby show at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ on Thursday September 25th. If you’re a sucker for wailing guitars like I am, then this a show you won’t want to miss.
