BoomBox Returns To Brooklyn Bowl, 3/29 & 3/30!
BOOM! This Friday AND Saturday, BoomBox returns to Brooklyn Bowl for two late night performances that are sure to be killer. The duo hesitates to limit their style by classifying it as anything other than “Rock & Roll,” but it would certainly fall under the category of chill beats and good vibes, complete with Zion Godchaux’s lovely vocals. Godchaux is best known for his parents’ involvement with the Grateful Dead for several years (Keith and Donna Jean Godchaux). DJ/producer Russ Randolph forms the other half, keeping it old school with sequencers, groove boxes and turn-tables. The combo is a unique, eclectic and upbeat sound that is best experienced live and certainly a good time for all. These guys are all over the festival circuit this summer and are definitely not to be missed at Wakarusa, Electric Forest and several others (my personal favorite recent addition–Equifunk!), but will be an entirely different experience at an intimate venue like the Bowl. Catch them this Friday and Saturday doing their thing late night at Brooklyn Bowl, and check them out at Red Rocks below:
