B.Mills Truly Uplifts With New Album “The Life & Times of an Eternal Optimist”
Featuring delightfully inspiring production, “The Life & Times Of an Eternal Optimst” is a new and incredibly refreshing album by B.Mills. In the world’s current climate a project like this is not only welcomed bu extremely necessary. A concoction of hip-hop, soul and R&B Life & Times is a stylish, slick and scintillating release that signals big things to come for B.Mills.
Featuring a debonair flair, conscious message and expert musicianship, there is so much to love about The Life & Times of an Eternal Optimist. Incredibly introspective and somewhat spiritual this album is a fascinating examination of the modern sense of self. Jazzy piano and percussion serve as the perfect canvas for B.Mills to work his magic. Some tracks smoulder and hypnotize like “And We Rise” “Slow Motion” and “The Light” while others sizzle and uplift like “Get Up 2 Get Down” and “If U Will.”
All contributors (4 in total) on the project are from the great state of Maryland, and also attended the same high school (DeMatha Catholic High School, Hyattsville, MD). B. Mills’ childhood friend Vincent “Invincible” Watson (Mixed all songs on the project and co-produced 2 of them) has had a stellar year– including a production credit for “I Like It” by Cardi B and a song on the recent Nicki Minaj project. All songs were written, performed, arranged and produced by B. Mills.
B. Mills was born to do music. He began playing the piano at the age of 5 after it was recognized that he had a sharp ear for music. This laid the foundation for every fire beat he made, introspective song he wrote, and soulful performance he gave going forward. A singer/songwriter/producer with rare musical versatility reflected by his diverse set of influences— ranging from D.C.’s legendary Backyard Band, to Radiohead, Marvin Gaye, and Kendrick Lamar— seamlessly mixing & matching styles to create his very own chic, urban sound that’s both classic and current.
