Ben Silver, Horizon Wireless and BlendMode At Ion Night Club
This Friday, July 8th Full Circle Music Productions Presents an evening of music with Horizon Wireless Live Band, Orchard Lounge collective member Ben Silver and Philadelphia’s BlendMode at the all new Ion Night Club in Northern Liberties’. Doors open at 8:30 PM for a 9:30 PM show time. This event is for ages eighteen and older, and tickets are available at Ticketfly.com.
This will be the first show of it’s kind in the newly renovated, six-hundred-person capacity nightclub at 461 North 3rd Street. The same room was previously home to Johnny Utah’s, a bar once known in the neighborhood for its rodeo-style mechanical bull. Ion Night Club features two full bars, booth seating with bottle service, state-of-the-art sound and lights, a wide-open dance floor, and will be regularly hosting premier regional and nationally touring artists.
Livetronica, also known as jamtronica, is a musical style created by the fusion of improvisational, often funky jamming with traditional electronica and house music. This usually means there is a producer accompanied by various instrumentation, but bands often substitute a producer and create the same sound with the help of pedals and synthesizers. Philadelphia bands like The Disco Biscuits and Brothers Past were some of the first to popularize this livetronica sound, and this is one of the most frequented cities for touring artists in this genre as a result. This will be the first show featuring livetronica acts at the new Ion Night Club.
“We’re psyched to play a new room,” said Horizon Wireless producer Harrison Waxenberg. “Northern Liberties is a great little neighborhood – Lot’s of good food and live music. We can’t wait to help break in a new spot…”.
Centered around New York City, Horizon Wireless Live Band features the production of Horizon Wireless accompanied by live instrumentation from Wiley Griffin (Teddy Midnight), Luke Bemand (lespecial), Daniel Scott Lyons (SOLARiS), and special guest Ian McGuire (CIA). The resulting sound falls somewhere in the combined zone of psychedelic trance, disco and tech-house. In a similar musical vein, BlendMode will be kicking off the music for the night. Their music fuses the jamtronica tradition with psychedelic funk, drum and bass, and dance rock. Their sound incorporates high energy rifts with exploratory jams that produces unique, modern dance beats.
Producer Ben Silver will also be taking the stage with his solo production project. He’s best known as one of three members of the Chicago production trio Orchard Lounge. His music features a mix of the deep house and disco sounds that people resonate strongly with Orchard Lounge along with psychedelic house and classic techno.
