Beardyman Releases 70s-style Video of London Performance
When I was first exposed to the multi-talented beatboxing master, live loop mixologist, and witty comedian Beardyman, my only hope was to be able to experience him live someday. The musical genius’s performance is fueled by a bizarre sense of humor that makes for…well…a unique experience, to say the least. Alas, that time has come, as he is embarking on a US/Canadian tour punnily titled “Eat Sleep Shave Repeat,” which will hit Brooklyn’s Output on February 25 (full tour dates below).
This brand new video, set up like a 1970s Eastern European talk show/documentary, perfectly exemplifies Beardyman’s goofy personality. Aside from the interviews spoken in gibberish and the old school haircuts/style, the video shows some incredible footage from a recent show at Koko in London. Between the visuals, his incredible vocal work, and live improvisation, it is clear why this is an experience not to be missed. Everything Beardyman creates musically is 100% live and improvised, with no pre-recorded samples or playback. 99% is generated from his voice too, which when you witness it, is sometimes hard to believe and a lot of people think he’s playing a DJ set and freestyling over the top, which is not the case!
Check out the video and prepare to be Beardyfied. Full tour dates listed below.
