Returning to Purple Hatter’s Ball at the Spirit of Suwannee Music Park this month is the ever evolving, socially and philosophically conscious group DubConscious. They’ve been busy working on a new album with a new record company, Boom One Records, as well as another surprise release this summer and now is your chance to catch them live.
This week, Umphrey’s McGee will be ramblin’ south for a three-day, three-city run across Florida. Their trips to Florida are fairly rare, so these dates are sure to be a big hit with the southern fans of the “improg” infused rock ensemble. They’ll be starting with a show in Jacksonville, followed by a first-time visit to Orlando, and then their first performance in St. Petersburg since they played their only show there way back in 2007.
Last week, Lotus got out of the cold and made their rounds in the south. This included a handful of shows in Florida where they got to turn the heat up higher than the days have been getting. “It’s always fun hitting the Florida shows.” said Mike Greenfield. “It’s a real treat because we don’t get to come here that often.”
It’s been about a year since Philadelphia-based group Lotus descended upon the beautiful and relatively new venue, The Beacham, in Orlando. Last March, they played a show that fans haven’t forgotten and on February 21 they’re coming back to do it again.
