The 56th Annual Grammy Awards: Who Dominated the Music of 2013
Tonight’s the night we award the biggest headliners in music with material representations of their success. The 56th Grammy Awards is expected to have some extremely tight competition between the artists vying for the top awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year etc. Artists like Daft Punk, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, and a prodigy from New Zealand have produced highly successful songs and albums, but each of their back stories are what really add the flavor to the awards.
Of course the Grammys isn’t just about who got nominated, it’s also about who didn’t. Weren’t we all expecting Kanye to have a bit more of a presence at the awards? When he dropped Yeezus, the world stopped for a bit, everyone had to react. Also, what about JT? He’s been a favorite for years, yet we don’t see him until the Best Pop Solo Performance.
Award ceremonies never lack tension or drama. They choose which awards to present on T.V. for a reason. Despite the prestige of Best Surround Sound Album, Leslie Ann Jones just doesn’t draw a crowd quite like Bruno Mars and they need a crowd to pay the bills.
